Shooting a sunflower sunset at the Valensole Plain…

Sunflowers Valensole

This has been a most wonderful summer, I was lucky to travel to some of the most amazing places on the planet!  Some of the locations include Croatia, Slovenia (as guest pro teaching for MM Photo Tours), Berlin, Prague, Austria, Vienna (as guest pro teaching for Photo Quest Adventures) and I spent some time in Provence to photograph the lavender and sunflower fields too. On one of my last days in Provence, after days of clear blue skies, clouds burst forth right behind a field of sunflowers providing a spectacular sunset. As the light was low, I set up my Induro tripod to stabilize my camera, and use one of my Vü graduated neutral density filters to hold back light on the top of the frame, allowing for detail and color in the clouds. This was my parting shot for Provence, and a great way to end a fantastic time in Europe. Please check my website, I’d love to have you join me for a future travel photography tour in some of these beautiful locations! Check Google+ for my travel collections.
