Shoot for the moon, and stars…

Twilight drops her curtain down, and pins it with a star. ~Lucy Maud Montgomery

We are moving toward a full moon on September 8th, a wonderful time to take pictures! The moonlit sky can provide all kinds of artistic opportunities. With the lifeguard stand photo., the moon was rising behind the clouds over the ocean, creating an image that looks as if it was photographed during daylight. Look for this opportunity in a few days, On starry nights, consider filling the frame with bright stars, falling stars or star trails. In the highlighted links, you’ll find interviews I did with Nikon along with really great photographers, Pete Saloutos and Harold Davis. There are a lot of helpful articles on the Learn & Explore site that are helpful to  your photography in general. A sturdy tripod is essential, I’ve been trying out Induro tripods for the last six months with great success. Check out the sturdy, lightweight carbon fiber Induro CGT214. I hope you have fun, and get great shots this weekend!
