Three creative filters from Singh-Ray…

Dock MB Gold n BLue

The Singh-Ray Color Combo Polarizer and Gold-N-Blue Polarizer

Three really cool tools you can use to accentuate color and slightly lengthen exposure time for your photographs during twilight is to use the Singh-Ray Color Combo Polarizer or the Gold-N-Blue Polarizer. The Color Combo controls reflections and glare while increasing shadow detail, and has the density of about 2 stops which makes it perfect for extending exposure time for creative effects such as motion blurs such as streaking taillights or abstract blurs. The Gold-N-Blue polarizer is a dynamic filter that creates beautiful color combinations by slightly rotating the filter. This works well in situations where the existing light is virtually colorless. This is one of my favorite go-to filters for drama. The Gold-N-Blue filter works especially well with silhouettes as shown in the dock photo above.  Try it with video to pop colors in your movie! Blue N Gold

The Wayne Bennett “Smoky Vision” filter has quickly become one of my favorites to create added color and drama to an image. This filter has the benefits of the Gold-N-Blue Polarizer, but with the addition of an ethereal layer of diffusion.  This provides just the right amount of softness to create a more artistic and compelling image. Try it and see!
